It’s time once again for Weekend Coffee Share.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I have to hurry up and write this because I must get back to March Madness coverage. Yes, it’s the men’s college basketball championship tournament that gets about 98% of the press. I was glad to see Gonzaga (of Spokane, WA, my home state) win their game yesterday for their first trip to the Final Four. I was also glad to see the Oregon Ducks (#3 seed) defeat the Kansas Jayhawks (#1 seed) as another West Coast representative in the Final Four.
But I’m also big on the women’s tournament. My husband and I both grew up in Connecticut, and although neither of us attended the University of Connecticut (UConn), we do follow the women’s basketball team. They have been quite a dynasty for the last many years and are looking for another national title this year. They won their game yesterday and will play Oregon tomorrow night; the winner will go to the Women’s Final Four in Dallas next weekend. Right now I’m hurrying to watch the match-up between Baylor and Mississippi State.
I’d also tell you how much I am enjoying reading other peoples’ Weekend Coffee Share entries. I’m new to this particular weekly challenge, and I discovered a lot of new blogs by participating.
And I’d also tell you that I can’t believe we are already about to begin the final week of March. I’ll be happy to see spring arrive a bit more definitively here. We’ve had a lot of rain, which is usual here in the Pacific Northwest, and I’m ready for a few more hours of sun to allow me to get outdoors and look at everything that’s starting to bloom. And in the middle of April we leave for a one-month ocean cruise. Although all the big areas of preparation are taken care of, I still have several little things (like getting a new pair of slacks hemmed) that I need to tend to. (And yes, I do realize how lucky I am to have such things to worry about.)
And now I’m going to publish this post so that I can spend some time perusing other peoples’ entries before the next game starts. I hope everyone has a great week!
